Bring your own key

Match the provider dropdown to the key type. OpenRouter: sk-or-v1-… from openrouter.ai/keys. AIHubMix: sk-… from console.aihubmix.com/token. Z.ai (GLM): z.ai/manage-apikey. Groq: console.groq.com/keys. DeepSeek: platform.deepseek.com. ModelScope: SDK token from modelscope.cn/my/myaccesstoken (OpenAI-compatible Inference API). Ollama Cloud: key from ollama.com/settings/keys. Kilo Code: key from app.kilo.ai (optional for free models). Cloudflare Workers AI: accountId:apiToken (32-hex account id + API token with Workers AI). LLM7.io: token from token.llm7.io (or unused for anon). OVHcloud: optional key from endpoints.ai.cloud.ovh.net. Mistral: console.mistral.ai. Hugging Face: hf_… from huggingface.co/settings/tokens. Alibaba Model Studio (DashScope): key from Model Studio console. xAI: console.x.ai. Cursor: API key from cursor.com/dashboard/api (Cloud Agents — no-repo runs for chat/agent steps; not a raw chat-completions API). After save, pick cursor:composer-2.5 (or a live model) in the toolbar. Test uses the field if filled, otherwise the last saved key.

Integrations

Connect your own GitHub, Vercel, Supabase, or Firebase account. Tokens are encrypted server-side and used only by the agent for your requests — never shown again after save.

Admin service key (RBAC)

Admin-only. Used by the desktop companion / ops — not for chatting or listing your threads. Sign in as a user for normal workspaces. Optional admin users: set CHATRE_ADMIN_EMAILS on the API.

Agent autonomy

Autopilot auto-extends budget twice, runs one critic repair, and skips plan approval. High-risk tools (desktop_exec, git_push) still ask. Named agents (build/plan/explore) enforce allow/ask/deny permissions.

Custom agents

Generate a specialized agent (OpenCode-style). It is saved to your account and appears in the agent picker.

Install & permissions

Permissions let voice input, notifications, clipboard copy, and offline drafts work. Desktop OS control still needs the optional companion (see setup tour).
